Brothers Charged in September 2010 Murder at Frydenhoj Ballpark

Two brothers, Curdilius Moncherry, 27, and Gaius Moncherry, 23, were arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with a murder that took place last September on St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Major Crime detectives arrested the two at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday based on arrest warrants issued by Superior Court Judge James Carroll. They were charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence in the murder of 34-year-old Kerwin Williams that occurred on Sept. 5 in the area of the Frydenhoj Ball Park.

Williams died of blunt force trauma to the head due to being struck with a two-by-four.

The Moncherry brothers were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections without bail pending their advice of rights hearing.
