VIPD Investigating Murder at Jackson Housing Community

Police on St. Croix are investigating the shooting death of 26-year-old Troy Christian of Estate Richmond, who was fatally shot while near the playground area of the D. Hamilton Jackson housing community in Christiansted.

Police were notified of the shooting at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was taken to Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

It was the 19th homicide in the territory this year, the 13th on St. Croix.
