Minor Beaten, Robbed of $400

St. Croix police officers are investigating a first-degee robbery in which the 15-year-old victim said he was robbed of $400 at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on Market Street, near the old Human Services building in Christiansted.

The minor, in the presence of his parent, told police he was walking when he was approached by two men who told him they had a gun and proceeded to assault him by hitting and punching him. One of the men then went into his pants pocket and removed $400 in cash, and both suspects fled on foot in a westerly direction.

Both suspects had on dark clothing and had red bandanas covering their faces. The minor was taken to Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He was treated for bruises and swelling on his face and then released.
