Police on St. Croix are investigating two cases, a shooting and a robbery, that occurred Wednesday.
• The shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. near Estate Calquohoun. The victim told police he was walking home when he heard two gunshots and realized he had been shot twice in his right thigh. He was transported by private vehicle to Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.
• Just before 10 p.m. police were told that a robbery occurred on Emancipation Drive in Frederiksted. Two women told police they were approached by two unknown men who assaulted them and took a purse from one of the victims.
The suspects, who were dressed in all black, fled the area on foot.
