FOSTPL Seeks New Members for Board of Directors

Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries is looking for people interested in fostering literacy for all ages, ready to support and promote the St. Thomas Regional (Tutu) Library, and making a commitment to active service for at least two years to consider becoming a member of its board of directors.

Since 1982, the Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries have been there for the staff and patrons of the Enid M. Baa Public Library, and have initiated programs such as the Hospital Library Cart, Day Care Literacy, Summer Reading Program, and advocacy on behalf of the new Library in Tutu. Standing committees are: membership, advocacy, programs, library volunteers and funding as well as others designated by the board. The board meets quarterly and as needed.

Prospective board members are subject to a vote by FOSTPL members at the upcoming annual meeting to be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, at the University of the Virgin Islands Administration and Conference Center.
The deadline to submit interest notices is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27. Request a packet, which includes a questionnaire and information including
duties and responsibilities, via e-mail: helping@fostpl.org.
