St. Croix Chamber of Commerce Elects New Board Members

Scot F. McChain, new Chamber president and chairman

The Board of Directors of the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce has elected Scot F. McChain of the McChain-Nissman Law Group as its 2010 chairman and president. McCcain has been a member of the board of directors for the past five years and most recently served as chair of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee. He succeeds outgoing Chairman and President Omer ErSelcuk of Seaborne Airlines, who will remain a board member.

The board also elected Stuart Logan as 2010 board vice chair. Logan has served on the board for the past three years and is manager of contractor services for Pinnacle Services LLC, which provides administrative, safety, training, medical testing, and various support and logistical services to Hovensa L.L.C. Lorine Williams, a realtor with Coldwell Banker, Land-de Wilde Realty, was elected 2010 Chamber treasurer. She has served on the board for the past year.
At its regular monthly meeting, the 18-member board also welcomed four new members. They are: Richard D. Clay, a partner in Cane Bay Partners VI, LP; Sandra Harty Gutierez, executive vice president of Inter-Ocean Insurance Agency Inc.; James M. Oliver, a consultant to Innovative Telephone Corp.; and Edgardo Torres of Glass 2000 Inc.
Returning members to the 2010 board are Edgar Bengoa of Bengoa International; Kevin M. Brandt of James River Capital Corp.; Linda Burton of Sky Med and Settler’s Guide to the U.S. Virgin Islands; Dr. Ralph deChabert, a retired physician and businessman; Fran Geocaris of Divi Carina Bay Casino; Tara Nicole Lee, a local business consultant; Matthew Leonard of CaribTrans; Dr. Roderick Moorehead of Moorehead Consulting; Fred Ury formerly with Terminix USVI; and Joe Zeppuhar of Turner St. Croix Maintenance Inc.
With approximately 300 members, the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce is recognized as the leading public advocate for local business – both small and large – with a focus on building and sustaining a more dynamic business economy on St. Croix.
