Police are investigating the homicides of a 16-year-old and an adult male that occurred in the Mutual Homes Housing Community on Wednesday. The victims were identified as 31-year-old Gary Gonsalves of Estate Grove Place and the male minor, who resided in Lorraine Village Apartments.
Police were notified of shots fired minutes after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Officers arriving on the scene found the two victims with multiple gunshot wounds inside a red vehicle parked near Buildings 14 and 15. Emergency medical technicians determined the two were dead at the scene.
Forensic technicians, Major Crime and Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives along with patrol officers responded to the scene, collected evidence and spoke to witnesses.
Gonsalves is no stranger to law enforcement, having an extensive criminal history and at least two felony convictions.
