Authorities have identified the victims as 31-year-old Gary Gonsalves of Estate Grove Place and a 16-year-old male who resided in Lorraine Village Apartments.

Police were notified of shots fired minutes after 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the police. When officers arrived on the scene they saw a red car parked near Buildings 14 and 15.

Two men were observed inside the vehicle with multiple gunshots to their bodies. Emergency medical technicians determined the bodies had no vital signs.

Forensic technicians, detectives from the Major Crime and Criminal Investigation bureaus, along with patrol officers, responded to the scene, collected evidence and spoke to witnesses.

Gonsalves had an extensive criminal history and at least two felony convictions, the police statement said.

The case will be followed up by the Major Crime Bureau. Anyone with information on this crime can call the bureau at 712-6075 or 712-6035 or call the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
