Ruth Selena Prince, better known as “Neeny Ruth,” of Solberg died on Jan. 26, at Schneider Regional Medical Center. She was 96 years old.
She is survived by her daughter, Orpah Barbel; adopted daughter, Virginia Milligan; grandchildren: Rev. Toi A. Barbel-Thomas, Dr. Kim M. Barbel-Johnson, Achille E. Barbel, Jose A. Barbel and Renee Bynum; and great-grandchildren: Ashlee, Achille, Shachillo, Jachille and Ren’ Yah Barbel; and Joshua and Joi Johnson, She is also survived by special family members: Beverly Monsanto, Luis Felix, Bob Belle, Ingrid Chinnery, Kurt Brooks, Judy Gomez and Sharri Mae Lewis; other relatives: Prince, Joseph, Christian, Barbel, Hodge, George, Monsanto, Fenner, Vanheyning, Brooks, Belle and Lewis families; adopted family members: Sonia Morales, Elizabeth Morales, Esmee Callwood, Diana Rogers, Maralyn Malone, Ron and Angela Belfon; Joan and Freddy Sibilly and Rev. Glastone Hazel; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 8:45 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, at Nisky Moravian Church. Interment will be at Nisky Moravian Cemetery.
