St. Croix Reef Jam Committee Announces Applications for Grants

Thanks to a very successful St. Croix Reef Jam 2009 event held on May 24 at Rhythm’s at Rainbow Beach, the Reef Jam Committee has announced that it will be awarding up to $5,000 on a competitive basis through its 2009 Mini-Grant Program. St. Croix community groups, school or student organizations, civic groups, government or non-government agencies/organizations, and individuals are invited and encouraged to apply for small grants (between $500 – $2,500 each) to fund marine-r elated education and conservation projects that support Reef Jam’s mission: “To improve St. Croix coral reef conservation efforts through community education, stewardship and conservation programs which promote positive behavior changes toward our marine environment.”
Applications will be available on Monday, Aug. 31, and must be submitted on or by 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25. For more information or to download an application, go to www.reefjam.com .
