The VI Waste Management Authority will begin distributing mulch to interested persons from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 10, at the Estate Slob debris management site. This mulch is a result of Hurricane Omar debris that was collected by the authority at the site.
Free distribution of the mulch will be on Mondays through Saturdays until the supply has been depleted. All persons who are interested in obtaining the mulch will be required to complete a hold harmless form in order to obtain it. The entrance to the site is located across from the entrance to the Kingshill Cemetery. The VIWMA will provide loading assistance with a backhoe for farmers and residents with their own trucks who require small loads of mulch.
Those individuals, groups or agencies that need larger quantities of mulch are required to bring their own loader and trucks to load and transport the mulch. Scheduled pick up dates and times for the removal of the mulch are required for the larger loads and can be made by going to the VIWMA’s Division of Solid Waste at the Williams’ Delight Office and completing the required forms.
