Opal E. Farrell Dead at 68

Opal E. Farrell of Smithfield died on July 10, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. She was 68 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Farrell; children: Wayne, Shaun and Michael; adopted sons: Rhydel Robinson, Channy Opal E. FarrellGeorge, Maurice Bryan, Ian Flemming and Louie Payne; grandchildren: Wanda, Shanika, Wayne Jr., DeWayne, Janicia and Michael Jr.; and godchildren: Shanika, Naeema, Dale Ritter, Amari George and Major Cipriani Phillips. She is also survived by sisters: Alphonsine Maria Fredericks Webster, Olga T. Fredericks Reefer, Rita Mae Wilson Petersen and Betty L. Wilson; brothers: Claude Fredericks Sr., John A. Wilson Sr., Juan Diaz and Israel Miranda; sisters-in-law: Paula Powell, Georgiana Farrell, Sonia Fredericks, Bobbie Wilson, Mercedes Colon, Maria Miranda and Gloria Fredericks; and brothers-in-law: Victor Farrell and Lawrence Petersen Sr. She is also survived by special cousin and sister at heart, Ann H. Doute; caretaker, Rita Phillips; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 21, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
