Advertising Industry Leadership Will Change Hands

The U.S. Virgin Islands branch of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) will officially change leadership at a year-end luncheon to be held at noon, Friday, June 5, at Room With A View at Bluebeard's Castle Hotel.
The 2008-2009 president, Liza Margolis of the University of the Virgin Islands, will turn over the reigns to Kevin Hughes of Choice Communications. The 11-member board is comprised of companies representing advertising agencies, in-house marketing, media and suppliers. It is responsible for upholding standards of the industry and providing membership with educational opportunities through the club's Professional Series.
President Margolis will present the 2009 Burt Lee Award for community contributions to Terese Hodge, who will be acknowledged for her contributions to St. Thomas Road Runners (STAR) where she organizes community runs for fitness and to contribute to many charitable events.
AAF-USVI founder Bob Austin will also be on hand to present his Founder's Award to a member who has significantly contributed to the advertising industry over the past year.
Ad Pro's past president, Cathy O'Gara, will induct the new officers and board of directors.
The meeting is open to the public. The cost of lunch and the program is $25 for members of the AAF and $35 for guests. For more information on AAF-USVI or this event, contact Terri Brown at terri@mlbcreative.com.
