Nov. 6, 2008 – The VI Waste Management Authority advises residents of Campo Rico and lower Estate Whim that repairs to the Campo Rico force main sewer line will commence on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and is anticipated to be completed within 14 days.
The VIWMA and its contractor will be replacing approximately 280-feet of 6-inch force main sewer line that runs along the road leading from the Campo Rico Pump Station, adjacent to the Melvin Evans Highway, eastward toward the Good Hope Condos. During this time, there will be no through traffic allowed, and residents and motorists are asked to utilize alternate routes during this time.
Residents are asked to avoid any standing water in the area, which will be disinfected and deodorized. The VIWMA advises all residents with impacted immune systems to avoid the area during this time because the sewage may contain contaminants that will negatively impact one’s health.
