Friends, I have never voiced support for a candidate for elected office in the Virgin Islands, other than through editorial endorsements in The Daily News.
I am making an exception this year to urge you to vote for Tregenza Roach, #11, for the Legislature.
I have known Tregenza since the 1980s when he was a reporter and then news editor for The Daily News before leaving to attend law school. Tregenza is smart, thoughtful, sensible, open-minded and well-informed. He also has the kind of temperament we need in our elected officials — unfailingly polite and respectful of others, a model of civility.
I do not expect to agree with Tregenza on all issues but I feel very confident that he will give all sides to any issue a fair hearing. I hope you will check out his background and experience in the voter information guides we'll all get between now and Tuesday, and I hope you will agree that he is a candidate worthy of your vote.
