Brief: Police Seek Identity of Dead Man Found in Harbor

April 11, 2008 — Police are working to identify the body of a man found early Friday morning floating in the water near Villa Olga in Frenchtown.
So far there appears to be no physical evidence of foul play, according to a news release from the V.I. Police Department. The body has since been turned over to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
Reports of a body found floating in the area were phoned into police around 7:30 a.m. The unidentified male is bald and has a short, scruffy beard. He was wearing black knee-length shorts, no shirt and no shoes.
Preliminary police reports indicate the body appeared to have been in the water for more than a day.
Residents with information on a missing male are urged to contact police at 715-5522, 774-2221 or police emergency 911.
