Brief: Governor's Office Gives Out Trash Bags for Easter Campers

March 23, 2008 — In recognition of the Easter holiday season, teams under the umbrella of the "St. Croix Be Clean" campaign are distributing personal trash bags in the Christiansted and Frederiksted beach areas, as well as to other campsites throughout the island, through Monday.
The Office of the Governor is behind the effort to help St. Croix campers island-wide with the care and cleanup of garbage from picnicking, barbequing, and camping.
The St. Croix push is led by Administrator Pedro "Pete" Encarnacion. "Since the creation of the St. Croix Be Clean campaign, we have been working diligently to educate residents about the importance of keeping the island clean, and have been providing direct clean-up assistance to areas needing special attention," Encarnacion said. "As a community it is important that we treasure the beauty of our place in paradise and continue to provide for a clean and safe area for one another at all times."
