Botanical Gardens to Have Christmas Gala

St. George Village Botanical has three exciting days of activities coming up. This year's Christmas Gala at the Garden, with the theme "Christmas Around the World." begins at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 7, and dress is Caribbean elegant.
Radio personality Roger W. Morgan, aided by former board member Connie Lemco, will auction off 10 live decorated Christmas trees. "Once again, local artists have contributed dozens of charming miniature original paintings for the 'Artistree,' a collector's favorite," Lemco said.
During the fund-raising evening Morgan will also auction off sponsorship of the first three of the Garden's 2008 educational activities, Second Saturdays, which will be held throughout the year.
Special auction items include a trip in a private aircraft to a nearby island of choice for four from Ed and Connie Lemco; three nights (and many extras) for two at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island from Dan and Amelia Musser; a helicopter tour from John and Laura Ballard, and a champagne island tour for 14 people from Seaborne Airlines.
Former Mrs. USVI Judi Fricks will sing seasonal songs, accompanied by Patrick Baron on keyboards, during the cocktail hour prior to the sit-down dinner provided by Dave Trask of GSBB Catering.
Tickets are $150 per person. To make reservations, call 692-2874.
