Dear Source:
Why on earth would it take over two years to get an opinion about whether the PSC can regulate cell phones and why should ETC status be held up because of it? Is Alecia Wells crazy or is something else going on? If federal money is available to several companies, let them proceed to get it. We need competition. My Sprint service costs the same whether I purchase it in St. Thomas or in the states. If federal money can result in more equipment to service the areas on island which cannot presently receive signals, then the PSC should act on applications in a timely manner. There is NO excuse for letting something as important to the public as this be held up for more than two years. I don't know that the PSC has a good track record on anything else they regulate, so why wait for an opinion on something else to regulate? This is just another exasperating government mess. Alecia Wells, get out of the way and let progress happen!
Dena Langdon,
St. Thomas
