A Pathetic Embarrassment

Dear Source:
This behavior is unacceptable to those of us who live and love it here. The media is going to have a heyday over this episode, which renews the general perception of we, in the United States Virgin Islands, acting very much like the proverbial "Banana Republic".
Even with the very remote threat of a brush-by of Hurricane Dean looming in the background, there is no excuse for missing this important hearing, scheduled for 900AM on Friday. How could there have been a miscommunication having had two public announcements of the date and time? Those of us who do not keep official calendars were well aware of this arrangement.
None of us who live here stands to gain anything positive when such shoddy conduct is displayed by our public officials.
