June 19, 2007 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, June 24. This Sunday we will feature music by Paul McCartney, Terry Kitchen, Poncho Sanchez, Jefferson Airplane, Jeff Beck and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Memory Almost Full," the new release from Paul McCartney. This is his highest charting CD in a few years and his first release after signing with Hear Music, the label owned by Starbucks. As expected, it is chock full of quality songs. He manages to stay current and utilize the best of the new in music without betraying his great musical legacy.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Heaven Here on Earth," the latest release from New England folk artist Terry Kitchen. Kitchen is a fine veteran songwriter and once again releases a CD with good adult songwriting.
We play new music from Graham Parker, Liz Carlisle, blues man Poncho Sanchez and more.
We include music from the Yardbirds, Jefferson Airplane, Mark O'Connor, the Mammals, Colin Hay and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of blues artist Michael Coleman, blues man Tad Robinson, Colin Blunstone of the Zombies, Jeff Beck, Chris Wood of Traffic and Bruce Johnston of the Beachboys. We remember Texas blues artist Pee Wee Crayton on the anniversary of his death.
We give away a copy of a great Neil Young live concert CD, featuring an acoustic performance at Massey Hall in 1971. We also give away a new CD from guitar virtuoso Kaki King.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
