There are rude people everywhere. We can choose to ignore it and concentrate on cordial people, or to react. As a former resident of St. Thomas I had experienced rudeness on both sides. Tourist's can be the most arrogant and superior acting of all. After swimming a lap one morning at Megan's Bay, I returned to my picnic table and found all of my belongings on the ground and a table full of tourists with their belongings all over "my" table. They were not embarrassed nor apologetic as I recovered my things to look for another table. I can go on and on with stories like this. After awhile I found myself not liking tourists very much either. In general, as a guest visitor, people will treat you with the same respect that you give them.
