May 5, 2007 – The Mothers Against Guns/Walk-Run Against Gun Violence will be held at 4 p.m., on Sunday, May 20, near the Coast Guard Dock. This will be a 2-mile race. There will be awards in eight categories; T-shirts will be given to the first 300 and medals to the first 200.
Entry fees prior to the race are $8 for adults and $3 for youths 17 and under. On the day of the race the fees will be $10 for adults and $5 for youths 17 and under. Pre-registration can be made at The Caribbean Surf Company Havensight Mall, Royal Dane Mall, Red Hook Mall, Elizabeth Jane's in American Yacht Harbor, America's Paradise Gym Nisky Center or Jackson Complex Wellness Center. Race day registration starts at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 20.
The event will benefit the Jason Carroll Memorial Fund Inc. and raise funds for college scholarships.
