District Schools Will Close for Development Day

Feb. 12, 2007 – St. Thomas-St. John District Schools will be closed on Friday, Feb. 16, so that faculty and staff can participate in professional development training sessions, according to a press release from St. Thomas-St. John Acting Superintendent Lisa Forde.
"The scheduled all-day training focuses on assisting staff in acquiring innovative instructional strategies. This training is Phase II of the bi-annual training provided by the district and which concentrates on the development of the current year's District Improvement Plan," Forde said. "This program will help to bring the St.Thomas-St. John District in line with the federally mandated No Child Left Behind Act and the implementation of the Standards and Accountability Initiative."
