Jan. 30, 2007 — V.I. Education Department officials on Tuesday confirmed an accident involving a department-owned school bus, which overturned on Mandahl Road en route to Yvonne Milliner-Bowsky Elementary School. According to a release from the department, only the driver and a staff member were on board at the time of the accident.
Lisa Forde, acting superintendent of schools for the St. Thomas-St. John district, noted in the release that the accident is being investigated by the V.I. Police Department. She added, "We are awaiting their response before any further statements are made.”
Forde also noted that the driver and staff member incurred minor injuries.
