Wedding Professionals Invited to Take Part in Caribbean Bridal Expo

Jan. 19, 2007 — The V.I. Department of Tourism is inviting local wedding professionals to display their promotional items at the territory's booth during the Caribbean Bridal Expo, Feb. 9-11 in Puerto Rico.
"The bridal market is extremely lucrative and very important to our tourism industry. Thousands of travelers come to the U.S. Virgin islands to get married or renew their vows. Marital/honeymoon travelers contribute to our economy because they tend to travel in groups and stay for longer periods of time. It is important that this destination stays at the forefront of such a substantial market," stated acting Commissioner Monique Sibilly-Hodge.
According to the release, the department is asking all local wedding planners, consultants, caterers and photographers to bring their brochures, business cards or any other collateral items that they would like displayed at the territory's booth for the expo to the Tourism offices on St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas.
The deadline for submission is Friday, Jan. 26.
For more information on the expo, please contact Norma Dyer (St, Croix) at 340-773-0495 or Diana Brown (St. Thomas/St. John) at 340-774-8784.
