Mavis Eugenie Elizabeth Corry Dies at 68

Jan. 5, 2007 – Mavis Eugenie Elizabeth Corry of St. Croix U.S. Virgin Islands, also known as Jean, and most recently of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Jan. 3, from breast cancer. She was 68 years old. She attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic School, Modern High School, and St. Joseph Nursing School in Guyana. She was active in the Girl Scouts, the Good Will Choir and a member of the Red Cross Society. Corry retired from the Department of Housing, U.S.V.I. after 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Godfrey Corry; and children: Ricardo, Gordon, Donna, Mona, Yan and Paula Corry, and Audrey Canton. Other survivors are sisters Fredreeka Valerie and Mabel Woods; brother, Michael Woods; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 13, at Mission Park Chapel, San Antonio, Texas with interment immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Red Cross or Cancer Society is requested.
