Aug. 8, 2006 – The St. Croix District will have an Open House culminating the district's 2006 Summer Program in collaborative with the Education Station (a subsidiary of Catapult Learning-Sylvan Learning). Parents and guardians of participating students are invited to visit the program sites: Claude O. Markoe, Evelyn Williams and Juanita Gardine Elementary Schools from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
The six-week summer program worked with 494 students in grades two through eight who required remediation in the areas of reading and mathematics. Students were pre-tested and post tested to determine the success of the program, and there has been data obtained from a series of student, teacher and parent surveys.
