June 30, 2006 – Paul Horovitz, a Massachusetts native, will take over leadership of Antilles School on St. Thomas, the school's Board of Trustees announced.
Coming from Los Angeles, where Horovitz served as head of school at The Buckley School from 1998 to 2005, he has spent almost three decades providing counsel to independent schools and nonprofit organizations in areas of strategic thinking, governance and management.
He is a frequent lecturer on independent school governance and administration.
Horovitz served as chairman of the trustee committee of the National Association of Independent Schools, a director of the Association of Independent Schools in New England, and a member of the trustee committee of the California Association of Independent Schools.
"We are very happy that a person of Paul's experience, intellect, and people skills was available to Antilles School," said Robert Schmidt, president of the Board of Trustees. "He would be an asset to any school."
Horovitz attended Cushing Academy, and holds a BA degree from Lake Forest College and a JD degree from Boston University School of Law.
He and his wife, Betsey, have three sons and six grandchildren.
