Dec. 8, 2005 – Police have identified the victim of Friday night's brutal slaying on Nye Gade as Dennis Edwards. Edwards was in his mid-thirties according to Police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Hannah.
Edwards was found near the corner of Nye Gade and Crystal Gade, his body riddled with bullets, about 9 p.m.
Hannah said the reason it took so long to identify Edwards was the nature of his wounds.
His face was completely disfigured. "He maybe did something really bad to someone, or he saw something he shouldn't have seen," Hannah speculated.
Police do not have any motive at this time. However, Hannah said, "This was very personal."
Police appealed to anyone with information to contact the Major Crime Unit at 774-2211 or emergency 911.
