Oct. 20, 2005 — A blind woman, three criminals and a doll stuffed with heroin are all part of "Wait Until Dark," a play running now at Pistarckle Theater on St. Thomas.
The remaining shows are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, and Oct. 27 and 28. All shows are at 8 p.m. at the indoor theater at Tillett Gardens.
The play, by Frederick Knott, was originally written in the 1960s. It was made into a movie starring Audrey Hepburn in 1967.
"I've been looking at the play for several years," said the theater's Artistic Director Nicola Emerich. But the play was not on the theater's schedule until director Frank Bartolucci approached Emerich about it.
Emerich also said October was an appropriate month for the suspenseful play.
"I like the idea of a thriller – something scary in October," she said.

Also this month, Pistarckle Theater is showing the cult classic "Rocky Horror Picture Show" at midnight Oct. 29. Tickets are $20. Another movie night is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the theater. The title of that show will be announced soon.
"It's a Wonderful Life," directed by Bethany Burgess-Smith opens at 8 p.m. Dec. 1.
