United Way Has $24,000 in Venture Grants Available

Sept. 13, 2005 – United Way of St. Thomas-St. John's Venture Grant Program has available $24,000 to fund innovative strategies in addressing specific community needs. A workshop has been scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m., at the United Way office at Nisky Center to assist applicants in the preparation of the Venture Grant application.
Eligibility: Any social service organization on St. Thomas or St. John that is an organized, charitable, not-for-profit organization; is tax exempt under section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; and has existed for at least two years. Grants are not for support of established programs or as start-up funding for new agencies.
Grant applications are available at the United Way's office at Nisky Center, Suite 220 and the application deadline is Oct. 7.
