Response from Interior Would Be Better Than from Delegate

Delegate [Donna] Christensen is to be applauded for responding to the New York Times in "Christensen Challenges NY Times Editorial" by Source staff.
Over the last few years we have indeed suffered from our failure to respond to negative, inaccurate, and unfair attacks from the NY Times. In fact, the Delegate, in public debate last fall, directly blamed NY Times articles for our EDC difficulties.
While a letter from our Delegate to the NY Times would be constructive, it will also necessarily appear self serving, and thereby lack credibility and impact. We would be better served by a scathing response from the Department of the Interior. They could first sharply criticize the NY Times for its shallow approach and poor journalism, and then highlight the extreme danger faced by the US if the territories are not sufficiently protected. The obvious conclusion, for the good of the entire US, is that more Homeland Security is needed here, and not less.
