To the People of the U.S. Virgin Islands…
My fellow Virgin Islanders, Thank you, Mil Gracias, Thank you, Mil Gracias otra vez, Thank You, for choosing me as your Senator at-Large!
I asked you during the Democratic Primary Election to send me on to the General Election. You did.
I asked you during the General Election to elect me as your next Senator at-Large. You did.
I am honored to serve you in the Twenty-sixth Legislature and beyond. By electing me, you have placed your trust in me to look out for your best interests. That I will do.
By electing me as your Senator at-Large, you have placed your trust in me to work hard for you. That I will do.
You want to trust your Senator at-Large to do what is right and just for the underdog. That I will do.
On another note, I hasten to acknowledge those who believed in my candidacy. They worked tirelessly on my campaign. I thank them.
First and foremost, this victory is due to my campaign manager, Mr. Omar B. U. Henry. His political insight, sensitivity to people's needs, and boundless energy are major reasons for our success in the Senator at-Large race.
I also acknowledge with pride the following people who gave of their time, resources, and expertise to bring our message to you: Carmen Gonzalez, Jo Ann Murphy, Juan Santiago, Hector Saldañña, Pacquito Melendez, Fernella Payne, Margarita Hutchison, Christina Herbert, Jayne Edwards, Bob & Anna Nose, Glen Smith, Yvonne Washington, Scott Nyi, Marty & Carol Tuohy, Ursula & Welby Warner, Bonnie Blair, Terry Conklin, Stephen Hull, Tonia Garnett and others.
Moreover, Thank you to my fellow candidates, especially the Juan Figueroa-Serville campaign that so graciously hosted us on election night, and the common men & women on the street, and caring young people for your support and advice.
Further, special thanks to Camille "King Derby" Macedon. Derby wrote our campaign jingle in our beloved Quelbe style, elegantly telling the story of my effort to be your Senator at-Large.
Additionally, I thank our financial supporters, who paid for the radio, TV and newspaper ads, as well as the tickets to travel to meet our voters.
Also, thanks to the media reporters, who I saw working the same long hours that the candidates were working, in order to convey to the public what was happeningin the political arena.
As a final point, but most importantly, thanks again to you, the Voters, for giving me a chance to serve you as your Senator at-Large. This victory is not mine, but rather yours. Thanks for giving me your vote. Even if you did not choose me this time, I will work hard to earn your trust to represent your needs in the legislature. It is my goal that you will be confident and comfortable in choosing me to represent you in two years.I know that all Virgin Islanders are united by our shared humanity and our love for our beautiful Virgin Islands. I will use the office of Senator at-Large to build a Virgin Islands for you that is prosperous, safe, and full of opportunity for all Virgin Islanders. May God Bless us all.
Thank you y mil gracias once again,
Craig Barshinger
