Training Focuses on AIDS Education for Professionals

Oct. 7, 2004 – Upcoming training events, sponsored by the Florida/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center, feature Elena Hollander, M.D. director, Clinical Services, A.G. Holley Hospital, Lantana, Fla., and deputy state health officer for TB, Florida Department of Health.
This lecture, utilizing a case presentation format, will review the interactions of these two lethal diseases, HIV and TB including the epidemiology, pothogenesis, transmission, and current methods of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
The free training is offered at the following dates and locations.
– Oct. 13, Myra Keating Smith Clinic, Conference Room.
– Oct. 14, Roy Lester Schneider Hospital, Medical Library.
– Oct. 15, Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital, third floor classroom.

The Virgin Islands Continuing Medical Education Committee is accredited by the V.I. Medical Society to provide AMA Category credits. This presentation is approved for 1.5 hours. Nursing CEUs are provided through the UVI Division of Nursing.
