Aug. 31, 2004 – Innovative Communication Corp. has promoted Vuriley Harris to business office manager and Kafi Armstrong to business officer supervisor in the company's Sunny Isle business center.
Harris joined V.I. Telephone Corp. – Vitelco — in 1982 as a temporary summer trainee. Hired as a full-time cashier, she worked her way through several other positions to become secretary to the assistant vice president for customer services. In March 1988 she was named business office supervisor. Vitelco today is Innovative Telephone.
A graduate of Central High School on St. Croix, Harris studied accounting and business administration at Jones Business College in Orlando, Fla.
Armstrong also graduated from Central High School. She majored in education with a concentration in English at Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C. She joined Innovative in November 2002 as a customer service representative.
She previously worked in a clerical capacity for the V.I. Housing Authority and as a passenger service agent with LIAT and American Airlines.
