Pistarckle to Have 4 Performances of 'Wonderland!'

June 23, 2004 – The Pistarckle Theater children's summer program will conclude with a production of "Wonderland!" — a musical adapted from Lewis Carroll's classic "Through the Looking Glass."
The musical is "an unabashedly silly adaption" of the classic tale of Alice and her adventures with the White Rabbit, the March Hare, the Cheshire Cat and more. The music itself "ranges from gypsy to doo-wop to bluegrass," according to a release.
The production is under the direction of Lauren Body-Stewart with choreography by Elizabeth Guilliams
"With hip-hopping music, it is an upbeat, coming-of-age story that children of all ages will adore," the release states. Populating the play along with the Carroll characters are "dozens of new ones: a baseball team, a gospel group called The Responsibilities, a train conductor, star-struck tourists, plastic light-saber wielding knights and much more."
Performances are set for 7 p.m. on July 8 and 9 and for 2 p.m. on July 10 and 11 in the Pistarckle facility in Tillett Gardens.
Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for adults. They're being sold at Marina Market, Draughting Shaft and Nisky Pharmacy. They also may be ordered using a charge card by calling the Pistarckle office at 775-7877.
