DPW Repairing Contentment Gut Sewer Line

May 19, 2004 – A blockage in the sewer system has caused wastewater to be discharged into Contentment Gut.
Wayne Callwood, the Department of Public Works commissioner, said Wednesday that department workers are developing an action plan, which will include accessing the area and replacing the sewer line.
Repairs are expected to be completed within three days.
The commissioner said in a press release, "Residents are advised to avoid the Contentment Gut and surrounding areas while the department performs repairs to the sewer collection system, as any standing or running water may contain contaminants that will negatively impact one's health and safety."
For information, contact the Department of public works at 773-1290.
