ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATION EVENTS FOR APRIL

The St. Croix Environmental Association is offering a variety of events in April, including two hikes and an Earth Day celebration.
SEA HIKE #1
The St. Croix Environmental Association will offer a strenuous hike to Annaly Bay Saturday, April 10, at 8 a.m. Ras Lumumba Corriette of Ay Ay Eco Hike & Tours will guide hikers from the northwest scenic ridge to the sugar mill at Wills Bay and the tidal pools. Reservations are required. Call 719-5273.

SEA Celebrates Earth Day
The St. Croix Environmental Association will pre-celebrate Earth Day at its Southgate Pond Nature Preserve Sunday, April 18, at 9 a.m. Marine
biologists Zandy Hillis-Starr and Marcia Taylor will lead a nature walk on the beach. From 10 to noon there will be a beach cleanup with trash
bags and gloves provided. Students can earn community service credit.
At noon, Carol Cramer-Burke, project manager, will reveal plans for the
preserve. The rest of the day is for picnicking (bring your own) and enjoying the beach. Call 719-5273 for information and to sign up.

SEA Hike #2
St. Croix Environmental Association announces a hike to historic Maroon Ridge, where runaway slaves lived and died, and the lighthouse near Hams Bluff on Saturday, April 24, at 8 a.m. This is a strenuous hike led by Ras Lumumba Corriette of Ay Ay Eco Hike & Tours. Reservations are required. Call 719-5273.
