ROCK LOUNGE CREATIVE EVENINGS START AGAIN

Oct. 3, 2002 – Do you have a yen to write, read, or listen to poetry or stories or essays? How about singing, playing guitar or drums, doing a monologue, or just listening?
The Rock Lounge, a "free, open mic experience of poetry, music, visual arts and other creative expression," said a release from the Rock Collective, is starting up again with a new season. Beginning Sunday, all are invited to participate, listen and see, from 5 to 9 p.m. the first Sunday of every month.
There'll be reggae, blues, poetry; students to seniors, featured musician steel pan player, and featured artist Pita Gonzalez. Another week might be totally different. Come along for the evening and you can make a difference.
The new home for the Rock Lounge is by the pool at historic Villa Fairview, at 8A Catherineberg, just up and around the corner from All Saints Cathedral and School above downtown Charlotte Amalie.
Food and drinks, catered by the Tropical Events Group of Alexander's Restaurant, will be available, said Villa Fairview proprietor Ronnie Lockhart.
