FOUNDERS' DAY 5K ROAD RACE IS 21ST ANNUAL

Oct. 2, 2002 – The St. Thomas Association of Roadrunners (STAR) will hold the 21ST Founders' Day 5-Kilometer Run this Sunday, Oct. 6, starting at 7 a.m. The 3.1-mile race will start at the Fort Christian parking lot and finish at the University of the Virgin Islands' Sports and Fitness Center.
Register at the Fort Christian parking lot starting at 6:30 a.m. Sunday before the race. The entry fee is $3 for adults and $1 for youth under 18. Walkers are as welcome as runners. Water will be provided along the course.
The first running of this event took place on October 11, 1982. Many of the runners enjoyed the event so much that they organized themselves into STAR, which still features a reliable annual schedule of running and walking events.
