SOCCER WOMEN HAVE A CHANCE FOR V.I. NAT'L TEAM

May 6, 2002 – St. Thomas Women's Soccer team will be taking part in a 6-a-side women's tournament set for Saturday, May 18, at the University of the Virgin Islands field on the St. Thomas campus.
Women's teams from St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas are expected for the event, sponsored by the V.I. Soccer Federation.
Players in this tournament will be vying for positions on the V.I. National Women's team, which will play in the first round of competitions for the World Cup. The first game for the V.I. team will be against Montserrat near the end of June.
All experienced female soccer players more than 14 years of age are encouraged to practice, and play in the tournament.
