ARMED ROBBERY, PELLET-GUN ASSAULT REPORTED

April 4, 2001 — Police reported Wednesday a first-degree armed robbery in Smith Bay and a pellet-gun assault in Charlotte Amalie on Tuesday night.
Marlen Dias of Smith Bay told police she was robbed at gunpoint at 11:30 p.m. near the former Mini-Golf by two young men who took her purse, cellular phone and about $1,500 in cash. They then fled into the bush, police said. Dias was unharmed in the robbery.
The suspects were described as black males, about 5-foot 3-inches and 5-foot 6-inches tall, clean-shaven with black short hair and West Indian accents.
Diane Correa reported being shot at 8:11 p.m. while walking in the General Gade area. Police said she was taken to Roy L. Schneider Hospital with a pellet gunshot wound to the buttocks.
Two male minors were described as possible suspects, police said.
