WHAT'S HAPPENING WHEN AT THE ARTS FESTIVAL

Here's the daily schedule of events for the first St. John Arts Festival, which runs from Saturday, Feb. 17, through Friday, Feb. 23.
Each day includes a lunchtime concert and food fair from noon to 2 p.m. in Cruz Bay Park – featuring the foods of various Caribbean islands on opening day and St. John specialties on the other six days – and an island crafts fair in the park every day but Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Vendors and exhibitors will dress in traditional West Indian style.
Every day will also include an open house at participating art galleries between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. – Bajo el Sol, Best of Both Worlds, Caribbean Creations, Coconut Coast Studios, Every Ting, Frames of Mind, Kareso Studios, Lorelei, Pink Papaya and Wicker Wood & Shells in Cruz Bay; and Syzygy in Coral Bay. Each evening from 5 to 8:30 p.m. there will be a "meet the artists" reception with music and refreshments at one or more of the galleries.
Each night (and some afternoons), the festival includes the live music booked at local entertainment venues.
For an overview of the festival, see the St. John Source main page story titled "Arts abound for St. John's first fest" at www.stjohnsource.com.
