CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP FOR ‘99 UP FOR GRABS

The VI Cycling Federation will hold its National Championship race on Sunday Dec. 19 at 7a.m. on the North Shore of St. Croix.. The route will be the 12-mile roundtrip course between Gentle Winds and the Carambola Beach Resort. The course has a good mix of rolling terrain, cornering and flat sections to make for an exciting race.
The race will start at Gentle Winds and head west along the north shore through La Vallee, to the Carambola Beach Resort and then return on the same route. Each circuit is approximately 12 miles.
The field will be split into an "A" and "B" group with the "A" group completing three laps (36 miles) and the "B" group completing two (24 miles).
The VICF will crown A and B Champions for the 1999 season. This will be the last race of the season but more racing will begin again in January.
