SHIPS SCHEDULES CHANGE, CAUSE CANCELLATIONS

After Hurricane Lenny blew through the Eastern Caribbean last month, cruise ships scrambled to rearrange their schedules due to damages to some destinations.
The schedules are starting to return to normal, according to a release from the West Indian Co. Ltd. Tuesday.
Two of the ships diverted from hurricane-ravaged St. Maarten, the Century and the Grand Princess, will be returning to that island this week.
St. Croix received a few unscheduled ship calls due to the changes in scheduling -– and some disappointments.
The Destiny, scheduled to come into Frederiksted right after Lenny, didn't come.
The Destiny was rescheduled for this Friday, and the preview of "Crucian Fruit," a 45-minute cultural production depicting Crucian culture and history, had been slated to premier for ship executives and personnel.
The Destiny has been wetdocked, however, and the production has been rescheduled for Dec. 22, when the Destiny will return to St. Croix.
This week the Arcadia, which was supposed to make an unscheduled visit to St. Croix Monday, also canceled the call.
However, the Seabourn Sun will make an unscheduled call on St. Thomas Wednesday and will continue on to St. Croix at 12 midnight for an unscheduled call on St. Croix.
