SPEND AT HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, SENATOR SAYS

"Buy local" is the advice of Sen. Anne Golden with regard to Christmas spending for vendors receiving past-due payments and residents getting long-awaited income tax refunds from the government from revenues generated through the recent $$300 million bond issue.
Noting the local business community is suffering, the St. Croix senator said that spending locally will give merchants a needed boost, whereas buying on the Internet or through catalogs will not. "This cash infusion is very timely," she said, "and, if it is spent locally, will surely make a happier holiday for all."
