POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN BRATHWAITE MURDER

Police have arrested Kareem Richardson, 19, of Dronningens Gade #58-B and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of Perry Brathwaite, who was shot and killed early Sunday morning.
Richardson was arrested Monday at 3:25 p.m., the result of a joint effort by the Major Crime Unit and the Safe Streets Task Force, according to a release from Police Chief Jose Garcia.
After gunshots were fired, Brathwaite was found face down on the ground near the Anna's Retreat Community Center where a birthday celebration was being held.
Garcia thanked citizens who assisted in the investigation that led to the arrest.
