This sentencing is typical of what is wrong in the Virgin Islands. Mr. Miller gets probation because the judge felt that he made improvements to the hospital system after lying about his past. Although, he seems to have forgotten that Mr. Miller not only allegedly embezzled taxpayers' money, but also endangered the lives of patients by not providing the funds needed for care such as chemotherapy. This sentencing sends the wrong message to those who may think about falsifying documents about their past or qualifications, especially when they have a long history of lying, cheating and stealing. We in the VI get exactly what we deserve when we send this kind of a message. Could it be that we are just that ignorant?
