Friends of the St. Croix USVI National Parks will host Lise Sorensen giving the October presentation: The Impact of Disasters on Cultural and Natural Heritage — How We Commemorate Them. She is a Ph.D. student in anthropology at the University of Oxford. Sorensen will talk on heritage on St. Croix against the backdrop of the Transfer Centennial and the disaster situation of hurricanes Irma and Maria. Sorensen will offer a critical discussion of her key terms of commemoration, memory, heritage and disaster.
